All procedures made available to the Society of Mineral Analysts (SMA) have only received minor formatting modifications and in most cases the name of the submitting laboratory has been removed.  The SMA makes no claims that the included procedures are valid analytically, safe to perform, or free from environmental hazards.  Please use, edit, or modify them however you so choose.  They are provided for educational and informational purposes only and hopefully they will help you to develop your own procedures in a more timely manner.  Use them at your own risk.
